Céline Froc qualified French teacher

HELLO EVERYONE!

My name is Céline, and I am a French native speaker from the Loire Valley. I studied English at university and with a degree in my pocket, I moved to England in 2001 to perfect my accent and enrich my vocabulary. The plan was to spend a year in England after which I would go back to France to train to become an English teacher.
That was the plan.

« In 2011, I was appointed as Head of French. »

However, plans do change and after a year in beautiful Manchester, I was in love… with the U.K. I enrolled at Manchester Metropolitan University and qualified as a Secondary School Teacher in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) in 2003. I started teaching that very September in a school near Stockport and stayed there for 13 years, yes, 13! I absolutely loved my school and the teachers I worked with. I quickly became Head of Key Stage 3 French, and in 2011, I was appointed as Head of French. I have a huge experience of the GCSE and A-Level examinations and how pupils can achieve the highest grades in their exams. I also worked as a professional mentor for trainer teachers with various universities which was a fantastic experience to share my knowledge and further develop my own skills. I also completed several modules of a Masters in Education which was incredibly enriching!

« I have worked all my career with native english speakers. »

In 2016, plans changed again, my partner John, and I decided to move to France! We settled in the Alps, near Morzine, and I continued teaching there in a private language school. I learnt to teach one to one lessons with adults, groups of adults and, during the summer, pupils from the U.K. wanting to get ready for their GCSE and A-Level whilst on holiday. During those 5 years in France, I developed even further my teaching skills with this new public and learners, out of the typical educational routes. I have worked all my career with native English speakers, and I would say I am an expert at teaching French to British people.

« I will be delighted to help you becoming successful in learning French. »

During the Covid Pandemic, John and I decided to move back to England for his work (he is a mechanical engineer consultant) and I decided to use all the skills, methods, and resources I have developed throughout my career to create my own online little French classroom! A new adventure begins!

I specialise in support for French GCSE and AS-A-Level exam preparation, adult learning from beginner to advanced, and conversational practice. I will be delighted to help you on your journey to becoming successful in French.
